I had a great time in the United States buying up lots of gorgeous beads and findings – I was spoilt for choice as there was so much to choose from! I found some great resin and glass pendants, great charms and some funky magnetic bracelets which are great for those who hate fiddly catches. You simply unscrew one end and add your beads. At only £2 each they represent great value for money. Find them in the Findings – Bracelets section on our website.

Using Memory Wire by Globaholic
Friday, September 26th, 2008Make a memory wire bracelet
You will need:
one length of memory wire
selection of small beads
2 memory wire end beads
2 headpins or 2 charms
pair of round nosed pliers
Memory wire is a great way to make bracelets. The wire keeps it shape, making it easy to wear on any size of wrist. At Globaholic we sell ready-cut lengths of memory wire, each appox 70cm long. You can cut it into 2 or 3 pieces or use it whole, although any shorter than half the length will need a fastening to keep it on.
Start by finishing off one end, then simply add your chosen beads and finish off at the other end. Lots of tiny beads interspersed with some accent larger beads look great.
There are two ways of finishing off the ends – either by making a loop or by using a special end bead. I like to make a loop and then add a charm or ‘mini’ earring made by cutting a headpin down to half and adding a couple of beads. Memory wire is much harder to cut than the headpins and needs a strong wrist!
We also stock memory wire necklace lengths.
