You may have noticed the new ‘P’ icon at the top of the website and wondered what it is. Pinterest is a virtual pinboard and is a great way of collecting images and displaying them.

I set my account up yesterday and so far have found 65 things to pin – so it’s quite addictive! One of the boards I have set up is called ‘Things I could make’ and has pictures of both things I want to make as well as things I have already made. Fox Stock Pin

On eBay our bestsellers in our shop, Globaholic Silver Jewellery have been fox related! We have nearly sold out of both the Fox Head Stock pin, and our Fox and Hunting Horn Cufflinks from our Equestrian range. There are a few of each left, but they won’t be around for long. Other favourites have been our Liverpool Liverbird pendant and our Kokopelli Pendant. Kokopelli is a lucky talisman for travellers.

Electric Storm Bracelet

At Globaholic Beads & Findings our bestsellers have definitely been a result of our recent double page spread in Creative Beads & Jewellery magazine. Our ‘Electric Storm’ project was a huge hit with readers, and sales of all the components for the necklace, bracelet and earrings have been flying off the shelves. You can read about it on our blog if you missed the issue. We have another project for their wedding issue coming up in February so hopefully we will have a similar response. Other best sellers this month have been the ever-popular Cane Glass Beads, the Elasticated Charm Bracelet and of course our Picture Frame Pendants.

Using an elasticated silver plated chain bracelet, sometimes known as bungee bracelets, we made this pretty bracelet using beads from our new range of Cane Glass Beads.

Make 13 charms using thin hard headpins and some 3mm metal spacer beads, then add them to your bracelet – what could be simpler, and yet so effective? It looks even better on!

Shimmer and shine in this stunning evening set, designed in sophisticated black that will catch the light and flash all the colours of the aurora borealis! This project appeared in issue 19 of Creative Beads & jewellery Magazine.

To make the necklace you will need:

Electric Storm Necklace

1 readymade black curb chain necklace

2 6mm black jump rings

2 5mm black crimp covers

2 crimp beads

50cm length of tigertail

22 6mm black AB cut glass beads

2 10mm black AB cut glass beads

5 Haematite 12mm donut beads

26 3mm black spacer beads

1. Cut the chain in half, then shorten each piece to 14cm. Add a jump ring to the end.

2. Take the tigertail and make a loop using the crimp bead and cover with a crimp cover.

3. Thread on a black spacer bead, followed by a 6mm cut glass bead and repeat three times. Add spacer bead then a 10mm cut glass bead.

4. Add a spacer, a 6mm cut glass, a spacer, then a donut (adding a 6mm cut glass inside) and repeat.

5. Add a spacer, a 10mm cut glass and another spacer then repeat step 4 in reverse.

6. Then pass the tigertail through the first 10mm cut glass bead.

7. Add a spacer and a 6mm cut glass and repeat.

8. Add a spacer, a donut with a 6mm inside and another spacer. Repeat step 7 in reverse.

9. Pass tigertail through the first 10mm bead and add five spacer and 4 6mm cut glass beads alternatively.

10. Add a crimp bead, make a loop and finish with a crimp bead. Finish by attaching the chain pieces. The overall finished length is 40cm or 16”.

Electric Storm Earrings

2 50mm black headpins

2 black earring hooks

8 3mm black spacer beads

6 6mm black AB cut glass beads

2 Haematite 12mm donut beads

Thread a spacer bead, followed by a donut with a cut glass bead inside. Then add three spacers with two cut glass beads in between.

Make a loop at the end of the headpin and add the earring hook. Repeat to make a pair.

Electric Storm Bracelet

30cm length of Tigertail

2 crimp beads

2 black crimp covers

1 Black T-Bar fastener

8 12mm haematite donut beads

17 6mm black AB cut glass beads

19 3mm black spacer beads

1 50mm Black Headpin

1 5mm black jump ring

1. Thread a crimp bead onto the tigertail, add one end of the t-bar fastener, make a loop through the crimp and press tightly. Cover with a crimp cover.

2. Add a spacer bead, a 6mm cut glass, a spacer then a donut with a 6mm cut glass bead inside. Repeat six times.

3. Add a spacer, a 6mm cut glass bead and a spacer. Finish by repeating step 1 with the other piece of the t-bar fastener.

4. Make a charm by adding a spacer, a donut with 6mm inside, a spacer, a 6mm cut glass bead and a spacer. Make a loop and attach to bracelet with the jump ring. Trim any excess tigertail.

This bracelet measures 21cm when finished. To shorten to 20cm omit the first spacer and 6mm cut glass bead and the same at the other end.

Key Charms at Globaholic

Spent this lovely sunny Saturday afternoon photographing all our new products and adding them to the website.

We have increased our ranges of Picture Frame Pendants and now have lots more charms, including these gorgeous little key charms. Wouldn’t they look great with lots of them on a charm bracelet?! There are also some sweet little dove charms, and a new ribbon bow in antique silver.

Really pleased with the way my jewellery making project has been featured in this month’s issue of Creative Beads & Jewellery Magazine.
